1200 calories is not some magical number and you don’t have to “net” 1200 calories a day. No, you shouldn’t eat less than 1200 calories a day. That’s true. However, you don’t have to eat more on days you work out in order to make sure you maintain a “net” of 1200 calories. You can, and if you work…

Why is 1200 calories number being used here? Women and their fucking broscience does my head in. Not every single person lives off 1.2k cal. I’m a 6’4 male at 204lbs (93kg) with an active lifestyle with a maint. of 3.2k cal, yet i have a 5’9 male 154lbs (70kg) friend who lives a sedentary lifestyle with a maint of 1.7k cal.
Yes these are male numbers but it’s the same with women. Different heights, BMR’s, lifestyle etc need to be taken into account.
A calorie deficit for decent weight loss should be at -500 cal to your maint level.
In fact, i recommend decreasing your maint. by 100cal every fortnight to cut. You will maintain more muscle mass in the long run and you will not feel instant drops in energy, thus no affect to your daily rituals.
Rule of thumb:
Cutting = -500cal from maint
Bulk = +500 cal from maint
Even then, +200 cal for bulking would be good enough. Minimising fat and optimising gains.
And for a workout day, you still eat 2k cal maint if your goal is to eat 2k cal maint.
What is this net bullshit..
brb 1kcal = 1000 calories = 1 Cal, umad?
brb all women can only eat 1.2k cal a day

I’m going to preface this with that I do follow the above blog and will continue to because I like their posts. But that...
